Camp "Lady" lodge

According to Grady, Hadley spent one week at Lady Lodge Camp this August. He is hoping to attend Boy Lodge Camp when he is a second grader. In reality, Hadley was a first time camper at Laity Lodge Camp in the Hill Country. I barely got her back in the car to return home after her week stay. She is ready for two weeks next year. 

Lately, my dates, plans and to-do lists all run together. Thus, I completely had the wrong date for drop off at Laity Lodge. I have been looking at the 2015 camp dates for months. Luckily, we were only driving in San Angelo one day early before we caught the mistake. So we made a fun detour to Horseshoe Bay, TX for an overnight stay! Jeremy and Krista were already there celebrating their anniversary so we joined in and had a great night at their outdoor concert.

Family Camp!

The adventure of family camp in La Grange, Texas will be hard to put into a story, but I can summarize a good portion of it in a  good/bad list:

Good:

1. Awesome Friends

2.   Happy kids

3.   Sneaking in wine to camp

4.  S'mores

5.  A working A/C unit

6. Gaga ball

Bad:

1.  Sleeping in a top bunk with a five year old

2. Bugs, inside and outside 

3.   7:00 a.m. Rise and shine sing-a-long

4.  Epic meltdowns over a marshmallow (see #4 above)

5. Swimming in a warm pond in July 

6. No ice

7.   Drinking warm Pinot Grigio (see all of the above)

This girl turned 9! We also heard that you get extra cake and ice cream in heaven so we know Daddy Nick had a great 63rd birthday.

Celebrated in the outdoor kitchen with lots of family! Aunt Cindy, Uncle Joe, Kelly and Allison flew in from Houston to see us and play in the golf tournament.
